The Pennsylvania Livestock Association is the event sponsor of the annual Keystone International Livestock Exposition, otherwise known as "KILE". The event is often considered one of the worlds "premier" livestock shows, and boasts record attendance with some 1,400 exhibitors last year alone.
KILE's agenda includes regional and national shows throughout the week. Additionally, the Collegiate and Junior Livestock Contests and Keystone Stockman's Contest all take place during KILE week - an ideal setting for youth to become involved and gain critical first-hand experience in the industry.
Tony Dobrosky Memorial Stockman's Contest
The Keystone Stockmen's Contest, is an annual a youth activity in the program of the Keystone International Livestock Exposition. This show is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Livestock Association in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Farm Commission. The Pennsylvania Livestock Association sponsors this contest as an educational activity for 4-H and FFA youth. As you know, many of our current agricultural leaders received valuable experience in evaluation and decision making in livestock judging events. They are offering this opportunity to see and judge top quality animals from across the nation. In addition, the meats judging section provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the retail cuts of meat, the end product of the livestock industry. The contest will also focus on quality, assurance, health, safety and management.
This contest is open to all 4-H and FFA members. Your county or chapter is invited to enter one or more teams of three or four members. These members will also compete as individuals. For more detailed information, please download the Keystone Stockmen's Contest information.
