PLA EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Pennsylvania Livestock Association presents educational scholarships to outstanding young individuals on the basis of outstanding leadership skills, a keen interest in the livestock industry and an involvement in KILE and support of PLA among other traits. Interested candidates should complete a detailed application, including academic transcripts and personal references as well as a narrative about their livestock involvement.
A student may receive the Pennsylvania Livestock Association Scholarship award one time only. Recipients of scholarship awards will be notified individually by the PLA Scholarship Committee. The scholarship will be presented at the KILE Opening Ceremony held in conjunction with the KILE Show.
YOUTH AWARDS
Youth Awards are presented to outstanding 4-H and FFA youth, and selected from a field of candidates submitted by county extension personnel and vocational agriculture teachers throughout the Commonwealth. Winners will receive a plaque and a monetary award.
KILE JUNIOR BEEF EXHIBITOR SCHOLARSHIP
To qualify for this scholarship the applicant must have exhibited beef cattle in the Junior Beef Show at KILE in
2006 or later. The applicant must be enrolled in a degree (undergraduate or graduate) or certification program
at a post-secondary educational institution (college, university, trade, or technical school). This criterion is to demonstrate that the applicant is both qualified and committed to attend an educational institution. There is no
stipulation about the type of major or program interest the applicant is pursuing to be eligible for this
scholarship. Applicants must submit a copy of the current semester paid tuition bill and an unofficial transcript if one or more semesters have been completed to verify the applicant’s enrollment. Previous winners of this
scholarship are not eligible to reapply.
